Hello! My name is Kudra (she/her) and I am excited to work with you through whatever it is you are tending. Breath, presence, and trust in the body’s capacity for healing are what fuel my practice. Your specific needs and reasons for seeking bodywork will inform and guide how we collaborate in your care. I aim to empower your sovereign embodied experience and am humbled to support you in your healing evolution. It is an honor!

Originally from New Hampshire, I’ve been loving life in Portland since the summer of 2021. Before becoming an LMT, I worked as a social worker doing end of life care and transitional assistance with seniors. Previous to that, I was the resident chef at a yoga retreat center and organic farm where I was also a student and sometimes mentor of yoga asana and philosophy. I also have completed my Bachelor’s in Psychology with a special focus in somatics, trauma, and embodiment. In my free time, you might catch me dancing barefoot in the grass, riding my bicycle, creating music, or studying astrology.

Janine started her journey in San Diego, while dealing with hormone dysregulation after childbirth, acupuncture and herbal medicine proved to be the solution. This fueled her desire to know what and how this medicine works. She received an AS in biology and transferred to Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, now called Pacific College of Health and Science, where she received a Master’s in Traditional Oriental Medicine and a certificate in Asian Body Therapy. Since graduating in 2009, she moved to Southern Oregon where her practice has been centered around acute and chronic pain management, but over the years she has developed a love of working with pregnant women as well as cosmetic and facial acupuncture.

Janine’s practice philosophy is to listen, with her ears, hands and heart. She has found those who feel heard, respond to treatment better than they expect. Janine also focuses on teaching her patients the foundation of feeling well starts with nourishment, rest and stress management. Wellness starts from the inside.

New to the Portland area, she lives with her husband Rock in Northeast Portland. Together they enjoy cycling, bike packing, camping, traveling and spending time with their son.

I was born and raised in Portland and graduated from East West College of Healing Arts. I was originally drawn to massage because of my own experience living with scoliosis. I know the physical toll that our lifestyles and work can take on the body and mind, especially when living with chronic pain or structural imbalances. I believe that bringing knowledge and awareness to our posture and movement patterns is an important tool for relief, and I am passionate about helping empower clients to understand their own anatomy.

I am drawn to deeper work, with the goal of decreasing muscle tension, breaking up adhesions, and increasing mobility. My techniques include Swedish, deep tissue, myofasical, and trigger point therapy. I enjoy working with clients who are dealing with chronic pain, injuries, and postural imbalances. I also love to treat the nervous system to combat stress and anxiety, or simply provide relief from all that life throws our way.
